Name: Sanji Door: Canon: Netflix's One Piece Canon Point: end of season 1, heading to the Grand Line Age: 19 Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/f0/b4/16/f0b416e6246d5c6bcf44f44c59d3c2ce.jpg History: https://onepieceliveaction.fandom.com/wiki/Sanji#History Personality: Positive Trait: Caring; Sanji cares intensely for those around him, especially regarding food. Knowing what it's like to starve, he never wants anyone to feel that same hunger, so he goes out of his way to feed anyone who is hungry- whether they are friend or foe. When a shipwrecked member of Don Krieg's crew shows up at the Baratie after being stranded at sea for days, he sets to work cooking the man a hearty meal despite the knowledge that he's effectively banned from the cooking line. Not long after, when Luffy runs to the restaurant for help, Sanji doesn't hesitate to stop what he's doing to gather supplies for Zoro, who suffered from a serious sword wound, even when he doesn't know how he's going to help- just that he needed to. He isn't very familiar with any of them when he decides to join their crew as their cook, but they'd all made enough of an impression that he wanted to help them achieve their separate dreams. Negative Trait: Choleric; Despite his kind, flirtatious demeanor, Sanji is very quick to anger and in some cases, violence. When Zeff's pirate crew invaded the ship he was working on as a child, he hid away- only until Zeff tried to add oregano to the veloute, to which his response was attacking a fully-grown man with a knife and proclaiming 'oregano is for savages'. When he's angry or passionate, there is no question whether to lash out or not. At the Baratie, working in the close quarters of a restaurant's production line, Sanji's mouth gets the better of him. He can't stand anyone talking down about his cooking or the fact that others are complacent with serving inadequate food, which he gets into constant shouting matches with Zeff about. Zoro knows how to get under his skin and the two bicker like two alley cats fighting for turf. Negative Trait: Prideful; Sanji takes great pride in his ability to cook anything, even with very few ingredients. He is creative and talented in the kitchen, but when his attempts to broaden the pallet of others are shot down, he is nothing but incredulous- unable to believe that his cooking doesn't measure up to his mentor's expectations. His anger is vitriolic and he is quick to try and prove his point again in defiance of how it may fall upon deaf ears. He's a talented fighter, only using his legs, his hands mostly kept in his pockets to keep them pristine. A chef's hands, after all, are their greatest pride and tool, so they must be well taken care of. He is boastful of his ability to do a lot with very few ingredients, using that to gain a bit of ground with Nami's sister in Coco Village to get information about Nami from her in their quest to track her down. If his fighting style is brought into question, the only solution is to kick their ass. Negative Trait: Self-sacrificing; One of Sanji's largest struggles is his feeling of guilt over Zeff practically giving up his life for him. Because of that loyalty to his mentor, Sanji puts aside his dream of finding the All Blue- a mythical place where all 4 oceans meet- to stay by his side at Baratie. It was that dream he shared with Zeff that endeared him to the older pirate in the first place, but how could he possibly give up on his mentor by following a stupid dream? To him, Zeff gave up his life of piracy to look after a little brat who challenged him at every turn- one who was a complete stranger before they were shipwrecked on that speck of an island. How could he ever repay that? His self-sacrifice shows up subtly more often than not, simply by putting himself or his needs last. When he goes with the Straw Hats to find Nami, she becomes the priority. When fighting Arlong and his gang, Luffy and the others took precedence. He doesn't think much about the consequences to himself, only what will happen to everyone else should he not act. He doesn't find as much value in himself or his life as he does the rest of the crew. Powers and Abilities: No special powers, but boy that man can kick.
